  • Ascending to New Heights - SOLD OUT! December 5, 2021

BB&B is back with our postponed celebration of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday, starting out with his overture to The Creatures of Prometheus, rekindling the fire that led us to music and love, and concluding with his brilliant and high-spirited First Symphony. In between we will honor Black Boston-trained composer Florence Price with her neo-romantic Violin Concerto, featuring violinist Lucia Lin from the Boston Symphony and Muir Quartet -- one of Boston’s most cherished musical artists -- who will also carry us to new heights in Ralph Vaughan Williams’ transcendent The Lark Ascending. This concert is dedicated to the memory of William D. Adams.

Program: Ludwig van Beethoven: The Creatures of Prometheus Overture; Florence Price: Violin Concerto No. 1 featuring soloist Lucia Lin; Vaughan Williams: The Lark Ascending featuring soloist Lucia Lin; Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 1
